FRIDAY THE 13TH IN AUGUST!!!

Posted: 07/18/2010

That is RIGHT! We are doing it again people! Friday, August the 13th we will be doing tattoos from the special sheets from 2 until whenever in the morning.
You will be able to pick from, not 2, not 3, but FOUR sheets of flash this time!
We will be doing the designs from the first 2 sheets, an ALL NEW sheet of Friday the 13th and horror movie related stuff, AND letting you choose off the black hive client appreciation sheet of the skull insects!
Same rules apply, no call-ins, it will be first come, first served.
You CAN come in and put your name on the list and we will call you back in order. The only catch is, after 15 minutes, we will move on to the next name.
As usual, all designs will be 50 dollars on the arm or leg and 80 dollars anywhere else.
And the final rule is do NOT bring in designs. If it is not on the sheets, you will have to make an appointment for another day.
You CAN ask for a particular artist, but you will still have to wait to get tattooed in the first come, first served format.
Ok, take the day off and see you August 13th!

SHIRTS!!!

Posted: 07/15/2010

Sorry for the delay, but there is some problem with companies getting black tshirts right now. Apparently, the bulk of the worlds tshirts are made in Haiti, and since its a disaster zone, there is going to be a delay in filling my order. We are still getting them. We are just not sure how soon.
Now we are REALLY glad we did not take money for preorders! Hahahaha!
The next run the shirts will still be 20 dollars. The design will be the deaths head wasp in white discharge on a black shirt. We will only making this design one more time, so send your name, email, shirt size, how many you want to blackhivetattoo@gmail.com and we will contact you as soon as they come in.
No money is required up front, but once we have the shirts in, we will email you back and you will have TWO WEEKS to pick them up from the shop, or call with a credit card to have them shipped to you if you are an out of town client. After that they will be up for grabs to anyone who wants it.
In town clients, please bring cash. Credit card fees pile up on these small dollar transactions.
After that, the next run planned will be a womans shirt, so ladies, let me know what kind of cut you want to wear. The most picked will be the one I do. Ladies regular tee, tank top, spaghetti strap top, whatever, let me know!

GARY'S NEW SHEET!

Posted: 06/28/2010

Along with some new paintings, Gary painted a new sheet of flash to tattoo at last months Tried and True Tattoo Expo in Orlando. Since he did not get to do everything, he is offering it to our clients for 100 dollars on the arm or leg and 120 any where else.
Hit him up, 904.245.9989, to get one of these pieces and see the other stuff he has before he is on to the next set of images!

PORTRAITS? WE DO PORTRAITS!!

Posted: 06/19/2010

And by WE, I mean Chance!
Chance is gonna smack the taste out of my mouth for this post, but he has been doing some INCREDIBLE portraits lately. I mean, I love his portraits anyway, but DAMN. This last batch has been amazing!! His clients have been letting him add his own special touches to them, and it has been great to watch them come together!
I just posted one to the his portfolio and it should be in the recent pics corner of this homepage until the next batch of updates.
I will post the rest up as I get new pics of them, so keep an eye here for the new stuff added every week!

FUTURE OPPORTUNITY FOR...?

Posted: 06/08/2010

Okay, for any tattooers out there looking to make a move up in tattooing, we are currently looking at potential new hires at Black Hive. There are certain criteria to be considered so read ALL of this post so you do not miss the instructions and miss an opportunity.
We are NOT ready to hire yet, but we are in the process of setting up another station for a potential new coworker.
BE WARNED, Black Hive is NOT a walk in shop. This is a place for someone who has a client base that they want to expand and have a nicer environment for, while gaining opportunities and flexibility for themselves.
We are trying to bring in people that want to be part of a community of artists that want to be the best tattooer they can possibly be. You need to be ready for open dialogue and differing opinions about style, composition, color palette and application. You have to be open to compromise AND sometimes be comfortable agreeing to disagree. We encourage an individuals approach to tattooing while keeping an open mind to other ideas.
Black Hive offers limited public hours with unlimited access for our artists to tattoo any days of the week they prefer. Also, there is a set pay rate with preset schedule for raises in the future. All other details will be worked out in person BEFORE anyone is hired on, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings.
To avoid conflict with your current work situation, if you submit a resume, no ones current employer will be contacted until you become a viable candidate for new hire. Even then we would clear any communication with you before making ANY contact with your current employer.

Here are the criteria for submitting a resume.
1)EMAIL all info to blackhivetattoo@gmail.com
2) Include all personal information, age, years tattoooing, marital status, contact phone number, email, and a current mailing address.
3) Work history for your whole career tattooing, back to and including who you apprenticed with, if applicable. Include contact numbers and websites, if any, for the shops you have worked.
4) A brief description of your general future career goals, as well as what you hope to get from working specifically at Black Hive Tattoo.
5) 20 photos of your most current tattoos. Our concern is NOT size or subject matter, just the quality of the tattooing itself.
6) 10 photos of your most recent unused drawings for tattoos.

Finally, DO NOT COME TO THE SHOP! Anyone who drops by the shop unscheduled, sends info through Myspace or Facebook, texts or calls any current Black Hive employee will be automatically discarded. You will get a confirmation email that we received your resume. You will not be contacted again until we are ready to interview potential coworkers in person.
After all if you can not be bothered to read and follow all the instructions in this post, how can we expect you to have the patience to do the best tattoo you can?
